Why does CurbDC need my location?
Only to find the block face you parked on when you tap “I parked here.” Location is read at that moment and used for that lookup — there’s no background tracking and no location history. See our Privacy Policy.
The app’s rules don’t match the sign on the street. Which is right?
The posted sign is always the final word. CurbDC is a guide built on DC’s open data to help you read the curb faster, not a legal guarantee.
Why doesn’t it warn me about street sweeping or rush-hour restrictions?
Those aren’t published in any usable open dataset — they’re posted on signs only. CurbDC shows them as advisories where it can, but always check the sign.
Does CurbDC work outside Washington, DC?
Not yet. CurbDC is built for DC first. More cities may come later.
Do I need an account?
No. There are no accounts, logins, or sign-ups. Just open the app and go.
